At eleza Africa, we are building an intelligent platform that will provide businesses in Africa with digital consumer intelligence. Eleza will analyze data from social media platforms to enable organizations better analyze conversations at scale. Insights from the platform will enable organizations to unravel trends and better connect with consumers. Some of the users of eleza will be social media managers, managers and researchers.
We are currently in the product research and design phase and are looking for passionate and result-driven co-founders to join our team to build the product. We are driven by a philosophy of strong scientific research and customer satisfaction.
Description
We are looking for an experienced Machine learning engineer focused on computer vision interested in putting and growing their skills to serve the digital consumer intelligence market. You will be tasked with leading the development of systems to help us better understand image and video data and extract useful insights to aid in decision making.
Responsibilities & Key tasks
● Collect requirements, design and develop deep learning algorithms.
● Train and evaluate different computer vision models.
● Stay on top of key research advances in deep learning
● Integrate prototypes into production phase
Qualifications
● Solid software design skills and ability to write organized, readable and reusable code
● Experience with Python, Git and cloud (AWS or GCloud)
● Knowledge of convolutional networks and deep generative models
● Proficiency with at least one deep learning library (TensorFlow, Keras, Pytorch, etc)
● Familiarity with traditional computer vision libraries as OpenCV
● Publications in machine learning or computer vision conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR) (not mandatory)
● MSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science or equivalent, with an emphasis on computer vision or machine learning, or BSc with equivalent industry experience
● Strong communication and collaboration skills
● Ability to work in a constantly changing and dynamic environment, enthusiasm to learn new technologies quickly
● 2+ years of experience in a similar position
● Previous work on image or video analysis.
● Previous experience in deploying machine learning applications in production
