On 27th March 2025 , at KICC, Kenya launched the Kenya National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (2025-2030), a milestone that reflects the power of collaboration and the unwavering commitment of key stakeholders across government, industry, academia, and international partners. The aims to position Kenya as a regional leader in AI research, innovation, and commercialization for inclusive socio-economic development.

The three core pillars that will shape the country’s AI future include:
1) AI Digital Infrastructure – Modernizing the national digital infrastructure to expand AI access and accelerate development.
2) Data – Establishing a robust and sustainable data framework to fuel AI-driven innovation.
3) AI R&D and Innovation – Advancing cutting-edge, localized AI models and solutions through a thriving research and development ecosystem.
We recognize the critical role of the Ministry of Information, Communications and The Digital Economy, the Delegation of The European Union to Kenya, the German Embassy, the Danish Embassy, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), GIZ Kenya, the University of Nairobi and Strathmore University.
