Our 2019 conference and expo (4th-5th September 2019) builds upon the phenomenal success of the inaugural event, that was held in Cape Town, September 2018, that cemented it as the largest gathering of CxOs, investors, buyers, suppliers, innovators, SMBs and global brands in the region focusing on real world AI and Data Science applications.

AI Expo Africa 2019 – Paper submission process
We had an impressive line up of 50+ speakers for AI Expo Africa 2018 (see list below) and our 2019 line up is going to be bigger. If you want to submit your paper we are now open for submissions for the following tracks using the process outlined below:
- Innovation – New to market solutions, innovations, start-up & investor centric success stories
- Case Studies – Real world applications and benefits of deployment in a B2B / B2C context
- Vendors & Platforms – Latest developments from global / regional platform providers, vendors & service providers
- Technical Demonstrations – Dedicated, deeper dive technical demonstrations of B2B / B2C solutions hosted in the Expo “Demo Zone”
Submission process:
- All submission must be made via email using address submitpaper@aiexpoafrica.com
- Format: A4 Word document with “Title” plus 150 word abstract, your name, bio pic, organisational affiliation & desired track
- You MUST also include your email address and telephone number
- The talks are aimed at business users (CxO / Analysts / Architects etc….) and a mid level technical business narrative is recommended
- It is assumed that delegates already understand the basic concepts of AI / ML / DL / Data Science
- They must be real world in nature and offer insights to the business user as to how they can deploy / utilise / gain value in the Enterprise TODAY
- They MUST NOT be theoretical, abstract, purely academic or a blatant sales pitch
- We accept papers from all members of our community (start ups, global brands, SMBs, academic institutions, entrepreneurs, students, consultants or industry experts)
- Deadline for submissions is 2nd April 2019
AI Skills Workshops
For 2019 we are offering 8 workshops for 400 people
- 50 x Seat Talent Workshop (4 x available) – Aimed at young engineers / students and wannabe entrepreneurs. These are FREE and form part of our “AI Talent Tank” initiative which will also be streamed live across Africa to schools, colleges, universities, meet-ups & co-working spaces FREE of charge.
- 50 x Seat Master Class Workshop (4 x available) – Aimed at business executives / analysts / architects (these are paid for sessions)
Joining Instructions:
The workshops are aimed at people who already have some basic understanding of AI / data science / machine learning / deep learning and associated platforms.
- Delegates can choose ONE workshop ONLY
- Each delegate will be issued with a ticket giving them access to the workshop
- This ticket also includes a complimentary lunch plus morning or afternoon access to the Expo Hall
- Delegates MUST collect their pass & lunch ticket from the registration desk
- Delegates without a ticket or pass will be refused access to Workshop & Expo

AI Expo Africa 2019 will be held at the prestigious Century City Conference Centre which combines the convenience of conference venue, hotel and social surroundings in the heart of the latest development in Cape Town.
